BMX Training!

Back to Bellflower BMX

Paul "The Jammer" Washington in his new FELT sponsored Gear
On Saturday, May 2, 2004 Paul "The Jammer" Washington held one of his famous BMX Training Clinics for the racers at Bellflower BMX.

Eager students braved the hot sun to pick up on some bmx racing tips from the Jammer, whose experience in BMX spans over two decades!

The Jammer was in full effect with his new sponsor, FELT Bicycles and sported the latest in bmx frame, fork, crank and gear.

The Jammer's Five keys to BMX training;

  1. 1.) Practice Gate Starts (A lot!)
    2.) Keep your mind and body in good physical condition

  2. 3.) When jumping, always land on your rear tire.

  3. 4.) Make yourself as big a target as you can on the track, don't make it easy for others to pass you.

  4. 5.) NEVER QUIT!  Pedal until you are well clear of the finish line!

Students "manual" within a few minutes of being taught the proper technique.

Paul takes the time to work with both racer and dad.

He's still got it!  The Jammer shows the BMX training students how to "manual"

Proper technique takes time and practice
